Man accused of attacking nurse charged for separate assault

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man accused of attacking a nurse at Rhode Island hospital was charged in a separate assault case.

37-year-old George Bower was charged with simple assault and/or battery, willful trespass, and disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on March 9.

Bower is also accused of injuring a nurse who was working in an inpatient unit at Rhode Island Hospital on Sept. 8. 2023.

He was charged with assault on a healthcare provider as well as assault and battery for that case.

A spokesperson for Lifespan said at the time that the agency was “providing assistance and support to our employees who witnessed the traumatic event.”

Bower will be back in court on May 17 for both incidents.
