Man accused of leading police on chase from Rhode Island to Connecticut to appear in court

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A man who allegedly led police on a chase from Rhode Island to Connecticut with his child in his vehicle will appear in court Tuesday.
Seth Parenteau, 40, is expected to appear for a bail review hearing in Washington County District Court.
Rhode Island State Police received a BOLO for a black Jeep Grand Cherokee in connection to a possible kidnapping out of Southbridge, Massachusetts on Sunday night.
Authorities say Parenteau took off with his 15-year-old son, who is disabled.
When police tried to pull him over on Interstate 95 south in Providence, he fled southbound into Connecticut.
He then led police back into Rhode Island. The chase ultimately ended in Richmond.
The child was evaluated at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and was later released to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
Parenteau was arrested and evaluated at Westerly Hospital.
He was arraigned in front of a Justice of the Peace on charges of eluding, reckless driving, child endangerment, and obstruction.
Parenteau was held at the ACI on $6,000 surety bail.
