Man accused of removing GPS monitor arrested on illegal gun charges

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police arrested a man with a warrant for allegedly removing his court-ordered GPS monitor Wednesday.
Keyante Mills, 26, was observed by a vice detective in the Niagra section of the city, knowing Mills was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.
Mills was approached by detectives, and he briefly fled on food before being taken into custody.
Officers located a bag discarded by Mills and found a black 9mm firearm, according to Fall River police.
Mills is charged with the outstanding arrest warrant, carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, receiving a firearm with defaced serial number and receiving stolen property.
Mills had initially been fitted with the GPS monitoring bracelet for firearms related charges.
