Man allegedly attempts to break into Fall River apartment through AC unit
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Police said a man was arrested for attempting to break into an apartment in Fall River last week.
The Fall River Police Department said 37-year-old Richard Loonie was taken into custody after attempting to pass himself off as a maintenance worker at a complex on George Street on July 5.
Authorities said they responded to reports of a break-in around 3:50 p.m. after an elderly woman told police someone was attempting to get into her apartment through the air conditioning unit.
Responding officers confirmed that Loonie was not a maintenance worker and arrested him, according to officials.
Police said Loonie was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, in addition to a drug possession offense.
