Man arrested after car crashed into tree in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A man was arrested after his car hit a tree Wednesday afternoon, officials say.

Responders arrived on Roger Williams Ave just before 4:00 p.m., for the report of a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews found a gray Nissan with heavy front end damage.

Authorities say, the car hit a curb and crashed into a nearby tree, splitting it in half.

The unidentified operator suffered no injuries, but was arrested on an unrelated domestic assault charge.

No further information is available at this time.
