Man arrested after domestic assault of elderly woman in West Warwick

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – A man was arrested in West Warwick after the domestic assault of an elderly woman on Sunday.

West Warwick police say Brian Pimentel, 42, was arrested on one count of domestic assault with intent to commit murder, among other charges.

The assault occurred at a residence on Fairmont Street at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to authorities.

Officials say the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pimentel was also charged with domestic felony assault on a person over 60 and domestic disorderly conduct.

Police say he was arraigned in Third District Court and held without bail.
