Man arrested after robbing elderly man at Twin River

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) – A man was arrested after robbing an elderly man at knife point at Twin River Casino Saturday night.
Police say Anthony J. McClain, 30, of Framingham, was arrested and charged with First Degree robbery after he robbed a 69-year-old man as he was returning to his car to leave Twin River.
The man told police he was closing his car door when McClain approached him, held a knife to him, and demanded his wallet or he would “cut him.”
The 69-year-old man gave his wallet to McClain. After taking out all of the cash out of the man’s wallet, McClain threw the wallet back at him, according to police.
McClain proceeded to pat down the elderly man taking the man’s cell-phone and glasses as well. McClain then fled the scene, according to police.
Police say Twin River’s security footage revealed that McClain was following the elderly man throughout the casino earlier in the night. The footage also showed McClain running back inside the casino after the robbery and proceeding to enter a car in another parking lot.

Although, the vehicle was registered out of Mattapan, Mass, police were able to find a connection to a home in Pawtucket.
Pawtucket police were alerted of the incident and found the car McClain escaped in at a home on Central Avenue.
Police arrested McClain after he was found outside the car wearing the same outfit that he was seen wearing in the Twin River surveillance. Police also found a knife on McClain.
Lincoln Police responded to the home on Central Avenue and took custody of McClain.
McClain is being held without bail on his First Degree Robbery charge at the ACI.
