Man arrested for multiple breaking and entering charges

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Allan Jett, 64, of Cranston, has been arrested for breaking into six different businesses in Cranston.

Jett confessed to breaking into these six businesses:

  • Wendy’s located at 950 Reservoir Avenue
  • Mobil Gas located at 1036 Reservoir Avenue
  • KFC located at 822 Reservoir Avenue
  • Auto Zone located at 1090 Park Avenue
  • Dunkin’ Donuts located at 1111 Park Avenue
  • New England Coin Exchange located at 1053 Park Avenue

The break in’s took place between January 10 to January 17. Jett would ride his bike to the businesses, break a window, and search through registers for money before fleeing the scene. All businesses were found to be in the vicinity of his home.

When police were executing their search warrant, Jett allegedly struck an officer in his face and resisted arrest.

Jett was charged with the following:

  • 5 Counts- Breaking and Entering of Business with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • 1 Count- Attempted Breaking and Entering
  • Simple Assault
  • Obstructing an officer in Execution of Duty
  • Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest

Jett is known to police, having a criminal history beginning in 1979 for breaking and entering charges.
