Man arrested for stabbing in Fall River

Fall River Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing his friend.

Early Wednesday morning police were dispatched to a residence on Henry Street for reports of a man bleeding, where they located a 55-year-old victim with a cut to his forearm.

The victim told police he had been drinking with a friend, identified as Frank Canario, throughout the night when at some point, Canario struck him with a golf club, jumped on him, and stabbed him in the arm with a knife.

Canario was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment
