NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police have charged a man with animal cruelty, for killing a kitten.
27-year-old Matthew Johnson is suspected of killing the cat and throwing it away in a dumpster.
A woman says Johnson, who dates her daughter, had admitted to her that he kicked another cat of hers a week before.
She says he was the last alone with the kitten, and told her he hadn’t seen the animal since he took the trash out.
Suspicious of the comment, she found the dead animal in the trash.
He has since been arraigned and held on $2,500 bail.
