The lockdown was initiated after the department received a call from the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority that reported a man causing a “disturbance” on a bus and that he was believed to be on the CCRI campus.
Other local schools, Davies Technical High School, and Lincoln Middle School, were also notified.
Sage was taken into custody “without incident” and was found to be on probation for a previous arrest.
The Warwick Police Department added that they were called to the city’s CCRI campus from a student who received an alert saying the threat was on that campus.
Campus police then told Warwick officers that there was no threat on campus, and all Warwick police activity was precautionary.
