Man attacked with baseball bat in Providence

Providence Police are searching for suspects after a man was attacked with a baseball early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Oakland Avenue around 2 a.m. after reports of a disturbance. On scene, cops located a male subject, identified as 20-year-old Max Levine of Lexington, MA, heavily bleeding from his face.

Witnesses told police that two or three unidentified males, identified as being white and “college-age,” jumped out onto Oakland Avenue before one of them hit Levine in the head with a baseball bat. The suspects fled after the assault.

Levine was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with face injuries. There is no word yet on his condition.

Police are still investigating.
