A man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a Brown University student’s home Saturday night.

20 year old Hakeem Saygbe, of Providence, is being charged with breaking and entering after allegedly breaking into 21 year old Eric M. Nguyen’s home on 204 Angell Street on September 5th.

Nguyen told police he heard his front door open, took a look, and saw Saygbe searching through his roommate’s duffle bag taking a Macbook laptop out.

Nguyen grabbed him, pushed him against a wall and into a room shortly before locking him inside. He grabbed a knife, called 911, and waited for Providence and Brown University police.

Saygbe told officials he was looking for Cindy Johnson, who he knew through Facebook, that attended Brown University.

Police say there is no student by the name given.
