Man charged in murder of ex-girlfriend’s new husband

A Providence man is charged with murder after an altercation over the weekend turned deadly.
Police say 21-year-old Axel Morales was at the Mount Pleasant neighborhood home of his ex-girlfriend and her new husband early Sunday morning. Some type of altercation broke out, and Morales allegedly drove into his ex-girlfriend, Karla Estrada, and her husband, 38-year-old Cesar Alonzo.
Police say he then ran over Alonzo. He later died from his injuries.
Morales is charged with murder, assault, and robbery.
He was held without bail on Tuesday pending his next court date.
Investigation into this case is ongoing.
