FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) – A Massachusetts man has been convicted in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist killed last year.

Twenty-six-year-old Ryan O’Day, of Bridgewater, was found guilty this week in a bench trial in Fall River Superior Court. The Taunton Gazette reports O’Day will be sentenced Aug. 1 for leaving the scene of an accident with death resulting.

Police say O’Day’s girlfriend, 19-year-old Cecily Kilsby-Munafo, drove off after fatally striking 36-year-old Michael Alfano, of Taunton, in November. Kilsby-Munafo is also facing similar charges, including giving false statements to police.

She will appear in court for trial-assessment on Aug. 14.
