Man crushed to death by car while working underneath it

Investigators say a man in New Bedford was killed while working underneath a car.

Officers responded to the call near Walnut St. and Acushnet Ave. on Monday where a man was crushed by a vehicle when one of the jack stands supporting the car gave way.

The victim, 49-year-old Angel Cordero of New Bedford, was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead

It’s still unclear at this time exactly what type of repairs were being made.
