Man declared deceased in van on Gregory Groom property in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — One man has died and a woman is hospitalized after being found unresponsive at the address of property owned by Kylee Monteiro murder suspect Gregory Groom’s family.

Rehoboth police and fire personnel responded to 107 County Street in Rehoboth for a report of two unresponsive adults, according to Jennifer Sowa, Deputy District Attorney at the Bristol County DA’s office.

Rehoboth Police Chief Louis DiBacco confirmed that the response was to a suspected carbon monoxide incident.

First responders located the male and female in a workstyle van on the property, which appeared to be their living quarters.

The male subject was declared deceased at the scene, according to Sowa, and the female was transported to Morton Hospital, and then to Boston Hospital.

Her condition is not known at this time.

Massachusetts State Police also responded to the scene and the matter does not appear to be suspicious at this time, according to Deputy District Attorney Sowa.

Gregory Groom is accused of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend Kylee Monteiro on the property in August.
