A North Providence man has succumbed to injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Warwick Monday afternoon.

Police say 57-year-old Arthur Pelliccia died Wednesday night at Rhode Island Hospital where he was transported after the accident.

Police say the investigation showed Pelliccia was south on Greenwich Ave near Vancouver Ave before making a U-turn and then accelerating Northbound. He then lost control of the motorcycle around the Church of Christ where it flipped over before coming to rest.

It did not appear the Pelliccia was wearing a helmet and speed is believed to be a factor. There is not indication alcohol was involved.

Police say witnesses describe a green older model minivan type vehicle turning left out of Vancouver Ave causing Pelliccia to slow down. Witnesses say it appeared Pelliccia and the minivan driver exchanged words before the crash but there did not appear to be any contact or collision with the two vehicles.

Police say the minivan may not even be aware of the crash. They say they would like to speak with the minivan driver at least as a possible witness.

Anyone with information on the owner or operator of this vehicle is asked to contact the Warwick Police Department Traffic Division at 401-468-43
