Man drowns at Nantucket beach, rough conditions to blame

NANTUCKET, Mass. – A man drowned at Nobadeer Beach in Nantucket Wednesday afternoon due to rough water conditions.

Police responded to the scene initially thinking it was a child in distress.

They soon found a man unresponsive in the water.

He was later pronounced dead.

Another man and a child were rescued at the same beach but are doing okay.

No word yet on the identity of the victim.
