Man faces murder charge after woman killed at her Freetown home

FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — A woman was killed at her East Freetown home early Wednesday morning.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said Freetown police were called to a house on Chace Road just before 4:30 a.m.

Officers found 44-year-old Heidi Chace dead. Police said Matthew Lucas, who lived at the house with her, was later found hiding in a shed on Burns Lane.

State and local police arrested him shortly before 9 a.m.

Lucas is set to be arraigned in Fall River District Court on a murder charge.
