Man identified in Providence River drowning

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A victim has been identified as 44-year-old Marcus Harris of Newport, RI.

Harris’s body was located by a pedestrian near the East Bay bike path in the Providence River last week.

The cause of death was determined as drowning, but will be confirmed at a later date by the medical examiner.

Officials shared that foul play is not suspected.
