Man killed in Pawtucket shooting late Friday

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket police said a shooting resulted in a fatality Friday night.

Det. Sgt. Theodore Georgitsis said police responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the intersection of Barton Street and Montgomery Street.

Officers located shell casings at the scene, and also learned that a male gunshot victim was transported Miriam Hospital by car.

The 21-year-old gunshot victim, who was determined to be the victim of the reported shots fired, was pronounced dead at the hospital, Georgitsis said.
