Man killed in Providence stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was killed in a stabbing Monday night in Providence.

The Providence Police Department said a 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed in an apartment on Bailey Court.

Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said a suspect was in custody after the stabbing.

Both the victim and the suspect lived in the same apartment, according to Perez.

Detectives are investigating the homicide, which is the first of the year in Providence.

Officials did not release the identity of the suspect or victim Monday night.
