Man pleads guilty to child pornography and animal abuse video charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A North Attleboro man has pleaded guilty to several charges of child pornography and animal abuse video charges.

28-year-old Samuel Maigret pleaded guilty as charged to six counts; including distribution of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, possession of child pornography, access with intent to view child pornography, distribution of an animal crush video, and transfer of obscene material (animal crush video).

During a search of his Pawtucket residence back in 2021, Homeland Security Investigations agents and members of the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered images and videos depicting images of child sexual abuse materials, including videos of adult males involved in sexual acts with infants.

A forensic review of his storage revealed Maigret used online applications to distribute sexual abuse materials, and to distribute a video that depicts an individual causing a serious injury that resulted in the death of dog.

Maigret is scheduled to be sentenced on September 19.
