SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Police Department said a man who was previously convicted in a 2018 Fall River shooting was arrested in connection with a breaking-and-entering incident that occurred on Oct. 9.

35-year-old Jesse Brule was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building, and assault and battery on an elderly person.

Police said they received a report of a person who forced their way into an elderly person’s home after asking if an individual lived there.

The victim then went to a neighbor’s home to call for help, and the suspect’s license plate number was reported by the neighbor.

Investigators then identified Brule as a suspect, and obtained an arrest warrant for him.

Brule was arrested in Middletown on Oct. 11, and will be arraigned on Oct. 14.

He was previously sentenced to serve 10-to-15 years in prison for the shooting.
