Man pulled from Narragansett Town Beach has died

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. – A man from Texas that was pulled from the water at Narragansett Town Beach has died.

Police say they responded to the popular beach around 12 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Beach-goers pulled the 31-year-old unidentified man out of the water and tried to help him until emergency personnel arrived.

He was unresponsive when rescue teams arrived.

Authorities say he was rushed to South County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Foul play is not suspected.
