Man shot by police after scuffle at Mansfield hotel
MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — A drug investigation at a hotel in Mansfield led to police officers firing at a suspect after a scuffle.
The North Attleboro Police Department said it was attempting to serve outstanding arrest warrants at the Red Roof Inn on Forbes Boulevard when a suspect tried to drive off, dragging an officer with his car.
Police said another officer fired at the car as it drove away, with that shot hitting the suspect, Kevin Burke, in the arm.
Three officers were taken to the hospital after being hurt in the incident, all of whom are expected to recover, according to police.
Police said Burke was ultimately tracked down and arrested off of Robinson Avenue in North Attleboro.
He was treated for his injury and released into police custody.
The Mansfield Police Department added that another person of interest was taken into custody at the hotel.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident.
