Man shot during confrontation with police in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE, Mass (WLNE) — The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred this morning in Lakeville.

A man was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where he was receiving emergency treatment. A Lakeville police officer and Massachusetts state trooper were present during the incident. No officers were injured.

A weapon belonging to the man was recovered at the scene.

The intersection of Pickens and Precinct streets is closed until further notice.
