Man shot in New Bedford, police investigating

Police are investigating a shooting in the North End of New Bedford.

Fire Chief Michael Gomes confirms that a male was shot Monday afternoon in the area of Acushnet Avenue near Nash Road and Tinkham Street.

Crews were dispatched to Dublin’s Sports Bar and Grille, but police have not confirmed where exactly the shooting occurred.

The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital but the extent of his injuries are unknown.
