Man shot in the foot in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday night on Ashmont Street.

According to the Providence Police Department, officers responded to the area of 34 Ashmont Street at approximately 10:24 p.m. and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim had been shot in the foot and a second person was also at the scene, according to police.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with the non-life-threatening wound.

Providence police detectives are investigating the incident.
