Man stabbed in chest in Providence, suspect in custody

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said that a person was stabbed in the chest Friday afternoon.

Spokesperson Patricia Socarras said that an adult male was stabbed on Somerset Street.

She added that the victim suffered non-life threating injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Police arrested a suspect shortly after the incident.

Socarras said the incident is still under investigation.
