Man stabbed in face in Providence attack

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Providence on Sunday morning.

Officials say they found a man lying on the ground and bleeding heavily on Viola Street just after 7 a.m. with two stab wounds to the face.

The victim was taken to the Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Department and was in stable condition at transfer of care, per authorities.

Providence police say they believe the suspect has been apprehended but have not provided any additional information at this time.
