Man “struck” girlfriend’s cat, cat had to be euthanized.

RIVERSIDE, R.I (WLNE) – The boyfriend of a cat owner is facing malicious injury charges after a cat had to be put to sleep for sustaining serious injuries, including a skull fracture.
According to the RISPCA, Corey Hourahan admitted he struck the cat.
The RISPCA was contacted by the veterinary clinic, regarding the injuries of the short-haired cat that had been presented for care on November 7, 2020.
Staff grew increasingly worried when the description of how the injury occurred did not fit the extent of the injuries.
The clinic attempted life-saving measures before it was determined that the cat required humane euthanasia.
Hourahan was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Cranston Police Department.
He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
