Man suffering gunshot wounds crashes car at Pawtucket intersection

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A 22-year-old man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a Christmas night car crash in Pawtucket.

According to the Pawtucket Police Department, officers responded to a call of shots fired near Park Street and Woodbine Street at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, the shots fired incident was followed by a collision involving a fleeing vehicle.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Park Street and Central Avenue and driver was discovered to have suffered the gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Pawtucket police detectives are investigating the incident.
