Man to be charged in overnight hit and run

A 45-year-old man was arrested overnight after Providence Police say he struck a pedestrian and fled before crashing his vehicle.

The hit and run happened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say a pedestrian was struck near Broadway and Service Road. The driver fled the scene but flipped his vehicle a short time later getting onto Route 146 from I-95.

The driver fled the scene and was arrested a short time later. Charges are expected.
