Man wounded in Providence shooting

Providence police are investigating a shooting that has left a man hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Officers and paramedics responded to the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday and found the victim shot in the back. He was brought to Rhode Island Hospital
The man's name hasn't been released.
No arrests have been announced.
Police are trying to determine who shot the man and why.
