Mansfield PD: Two pedestrians struck by car that drove up on sidewalk

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — Two pedestrians were struck by a car that drove up on the sidewalk in Mansfield Thursday morning, according to Mansfield Police Department Chief Ronald Sellon.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. when Chief Sellon said that a male and female pedestrian were struck by a Honda Accord in the area of 108 Oakland Street.

Mansfield Fire Department personnel and several police units responded to the scene.

The male pedestrian sustained a head injury in the incident that required he be transported by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital.

The female pedestrian was transported to Boston Medical Center – South by a Mansfield FD ambulance.

The driver of the Accord was evaluated at the scene and was uninjured.

The Mansfield police crash reconstruction unit is investigating the incident and the department asks anyone with information on the crash to call 508-261-7300, ext. 61220.
