Mansfield Police arrest man after de-escalating ‘dangerous situation’

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Mansfield Police Department said it arrested a man after a “tense altercation” on Wednesday.

51-year-old Jeffrey Pinnix was charged with assault and battery on a family/household member, assault with a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest.

Police said that officers responded to to a home in West Mansfield for a “possible domestic disturbance.”

The department alleged that Pinnix made direct, violent threats to officers, and was believed to be possibly armed.

Pinnix allegedly barricaded himself in the home, and then exited and briefly scuffled with police, who took him into custody after using a “handheld conducted energy weapon.”
