Mansfield police end weeks-long investigation after arresting suspect for stealing property

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE)- The Mansfield Police Detective Unit has arrested a suspect accused of breaking into three separate storage containers and stealing items that together are worth $50,000.

On their Facebook page, Mansfield Police confirmed the crimes took place between January 1 to January 13.

The suspect, James Jones, 44, from Mansfield, was arrested and arraigned on the following charges:

  • 8 Counts of Breaking & Entering into a Building
  • 8 Counts of Larceny from a Building
  • Vandalizing Property
  • Outstanding Warrant

Jones was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Attleboro District Court.

They located and recovered the stolen property from three different states, including family heirlooms and collectibles, and have informed those involved that they had recovered their property.
