Marion FD mourns loss of 45-year veteran firefighter

MARION, Mass. (WLNE) — Firefighters in Marion gathered to mourn one of their own Wednesday night.

Thomas Nye was a 45-year veteran of the Marion Fire Department. 

The 72-year-old helped put out a chimney fire yesterday and suffered a suspected heart attack Wednesday morning after he arrived home.

Nye was taken to the hospital where he died.

He leaves behind a wife, 2 sons, 5 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Funeral arrangements are still to be announced.
