Marion Police investigating 2 vehicle thefts

MARION, Mass. (WLNE) — The Marion Police Department said officers are investigating after two vehicles were stolen on Sept. 29.

According to police, both vehicles were stolen in the early morning hours in the area of Village Drive and Fieldstone Lane.

Police said the first person to report the theft was able to track the vehicle by using the “vehicle’s location function” and receive its coordinates.

Police said that within minutes, New Bedford police found the vehicle.

Later on that day, New Bedford police were investigating a crash and discovered that the vehicle involved had been stolen.

Marion police are reminding residents that they should always lock their vehicles and park in well-lit areas, as well as not leave keys inside their vehicles.

Both thefts are under investigation.
