Mass held outside after attempted arson at Franklin church

FRANKLIN, Mass. (WLNE) — Mass was held outside for a Franklin church following a suspected arson attempt.

St. Mary’s Church in Franklin held mass outside on Sunday morning following the discovery of a fire in the church on Wednesday.

The church said the fire caused “heavy smoke damage” to both floors and the church would not be useable while repairs were made.

“Thank you to all who were able to attend this morning’s Mass. Your presence was a gift,” the church wrote in a Facebook post.
