Massachusetts announces more cases of West Nile Virus

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Health officials confirmed three additional cases of West Nile Virus on Tuesday.

Officials said three people in their 60s were exposed in Suffolk, Barnstable, and Bristol counties.

There’s been a total of 10 human-borne cases this year.

Acushnet, Dartmouth, and New Bedford have been escalated to high risk areas for exposure to West Nile Virus.

Residents there are being asked to take extra precautions when going out during early morning hours or late evening hours.
