Massachusetts disaster assistance available for victims of September 2023 flooding

9 11 Johnston Flooding

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has centralized FEMA assistance information following last week’s Presidential Disaster Declaration for severe flooding that occurred from September 11 – 13, 2023.

The website, mass.gov/recover, provides residents and businesses with information on Individual Assistance available in Bristol and Worcester counties.

This assistance is through FEMA.

The site aims to benefit survivors of disaster by directly assisting the uninsured or underinsured expenses and serious needs.

Low-interest personal and business loans are also available through this service via the U.S. Small Business Administration.

“Federal disaster assistance will provide much-needed support for residents who have incurred significant repair costs as a result of the flooding we experienced in September,” said Governor Maura Healey.
