In court Monday, his attorney said Travers has no criminal history, and stated that he was not intoxicated, distracted, or driving recklessly at the time of the crash.

He said Travers also turned himself in to Woonsocket police shortly after.

He said the only mistake Travers made was not stopping at the time of the crash.

Travers was given permission to leave the state, as he is a Massachusetts resident.

Travers has a pre-arraignment conference set for Feb. 19, 2024.
