Massachusetts police divers recover body of missing Lynn man

Massachusetts State Police shared this photo of Dickson De Los Reyes, 24, reported missing.

REVERE, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said they recovered the body of the man who disappeared after leaving a party on June 11.

Media Relation Director Dave Procopio said the State Police Underwater Recovery Unit recovered the body of Dickson “Joel” De Los Reyes in the marshland along Route 107 in Revere.

Divers recovered the body around 8:30 p.m. Friday night after an aerial search crew observed the body in Rumney Marsh Reservation.

De Los Reyes went missing after taking a Lyft ride early Sunday morning.

The ride was cancelled shortly after it began, and De Los Reyes called 911, which connected him to police in Revere.

Authorities say the call was disconnected and several unsuccessful attempts to reach De Los Reyes were subsequently made. A search for him was then started early Friday afternoon.

Procopio said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken the body into custody to conduct an autopsy.

The circumstances surrounding De Los Reyes’ death are under active investigation by state police detectives, he added.
