Massachusetts State Police arrest man for illegal gun possession

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The State Police Association of Massachusetts said state troopers arrested man in New Bedford for possessing an illegal firearm.

Officers pulled over a care that had an expired inspection sticker, and found that the driver had a suspended license due to a previous OUI arrest.

Police placed the man under arrest, and also found an illegal 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun with filed-off serial numbers.

The police union said that the suspect will face multiple firearms charges as well as the previous OUI charge.
