Massachusetts State Police investigate reported sexual assault in Brighton

BRIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault that happened on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton early Sunday morning.

According to police, a man was walking along the road between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. when another man pulled up next to him in a car and asked him for directions.

The man walking told the driver that he couldn’t provide directions and continued walking when the car began following him for a short period of time, officials said.

Officials are urging the public to always be aware of their surroundings no matter where they are and to call 911 to report anything or anyone suspicious.

The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police in Suffolk County.
