UPDATE: Amber Alert for missing 3-year-old Worcester girl cancelled

WORCESTER, M.A. (WLNE) — A missing three-year-old girl from Worcester who was taken by her mother has been found safe, according to Massachusetts State Police.

State Police say they were found in a wooded area of Charlton and being taken to Vincent’s Hospital for examination.

Troopers issued an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old girl Wednesday evening.

3-year-old Ella Abbott was taken from 339 Greenwood Street in Worcester around 7:45 p.m. by her mother, Leeann Rickheit.

Rickheit allegedly made threats to harm Ella Wednesday evening.

The young girl was described as white female with brown hair, brown eyes, standing around 3 feet tall, and weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Officials say Ella was last seen wearing a purple or dark colored top.

Rickheit was described as a white female around 38-years-old with light brown hair and blue eyes.

She is also believed to be 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.

“Leeann is believed to be driving a blue, 2007 Hyundai Sonata bearing Massachusetts registration 4PG367. She has a history in the Charlton area was thought to be recently traveling on the Mass Pike in that area,” said a spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police.

Charges against Rickheit are pending at this time.
