Massachusetts state representative charged with DUI, BAC 4 times legal limit

QUINCY, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said they arrested a state representative for a DUI Tuesday night in Quincy.
State police said that they received multiple calls about an erratic driver in a black SUV on Route 93 south in Milton.
One caller said that the SUV exited the highway onto Route 3 and continued onto Burgin Parkway in Quincy.
The black 2014 Ford Escape came to a stop just before the Adams MBTA station, according to state police. It appeared to be disabled and smoking.
The driver was later identified as 32-year-old David LeBoeuf, of Worcester. He’s a state representative for the city of Worcester.
Investigators said that the vehicle had a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside. During a search of the Ford Escape, troopers found nine empty nip bottles and two cans of wine in the front cupholders. One of the cans was empty, the other was half full.
The 32-year-old failed the standardized sobriety test, and was “extremely unsteady on his feet,” state police said.
State police said that tests revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.329% and 0.317%, which is four times the state’s legal limit of 0.08%.
The SUV was missing the front right tire. The rim had sustained damage after grinding on the pavement.
LeBoeuf was charged with the following:
- Operating under the influence of liquor
- Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
- Marked lanes violation
He was released on personal recognizance and is due back in court on June 28 for a pre-trial hearing.
